Your recording is too quiet:
- Hold the mike 4 cm from the side of your mouth.
- Sing louder!
- Click HERE to increase the Singtone mike level.
- Increase your computer's microphone level setting which you can find in your computer's Sound Control Panel

Your recording is too loud or distorted:
- Hold the mike 4 cm from the side of your mouth.
- Sing don't shout!
- Click HERE to decrease the Singtone mike level.
- Decrease your computer's microphone level setting which you can find in your computer's Sound Control Panel

|
Warbly, rough or weird:
Make sure the background music is not getting into your microphone when you record.
- Move your microphone away from your speakers and closer to your mouth when you sing (then check your level) or
- Turn your speaker playback down when you record or
- Use headphones and turn off the speakers when you record
- Make sure only one person is recorded at a time.

Noisy (hissy, crackly or "pop" sounds)
- Check your microphone is plugged in properly.
- Hold the mike 4 cm from the side of your mouth.
- Click HERE to increase the Singtone mike level.
- Increase your computer's microphone level setting which you can find in your computer's Sound Control Panel
- Try to not use a built-in microphone or webcam mike.

Missing
- Check your mike is switched on
- Hold the mike 4 cm from the side of your mouth.
- Click HERE to make sure sure you have selected the correct microphone.
- Check your Computer's microphone setting software is set correctly*
* Look for your computer's microphone setting in the computer's Sound Control Panel.

If your voice sounds wrong:
Click HERE to check your microphone is working. You should see the level meter move when you talk.

If your recorded voice sounds wrong:
- First, make sure the background music is not getting into the microphone when you record. Click HERE for more info.
- If your recording still sounds wrong, click HERE to download our friendly PC Microphone Setup program (for Windows only).
- Click HERE to check your microphone is set correctly in our recorder. The level meter should be in the “ideal range” when you sing.

- Press "PLAY SINGTONE" to hear your enhanced recording.
- Press "PLAY RAW" to hear your original recording.
- If your recording does not sound great click HELP for advice.

- If your Singtone does not sound great click HELP for advice.
- If you LOG IN before recording you can send your Singtone to a Mobile Phone and use it as a Ringtone.
- After Sending a Singtone to a mobile, you can download and share it from this website.
